Tache love from Remington
Friday, October 3rd, 2008 | tacheback | No Comments
Nick Blunden (and eight of his colleagues at Profero) has been participating in this year’s TacheBack, and was certainly pleased with his Remington Grooming Kit:
So it was with great pleasure that I unwrapped my High Precision washable grooming kit courtesy of Remington for the ceremonial shaving off of my tache yesterday. Of course having provided me with the tools for the job they did not put me under any obligation to write about it here but it certainly served its purpose well…
Well, we’re glad it did the job for you! Nick was also pleased with the whole idea of Remington engaging with the blogging community:
as its so rare to see brands engaging with the community in such a positive fashion I am delighted to give credit where credits due.

Amongst the esteemed judges last night was the legendary Atters. I didn’t catch up with him myself, but the chaps at Catflap did!
Tapping into the blogosphere
Monday, September 29th, 2008 | tacheback | No Comments
We noticed that Daniele over at Creative Social Blog was involved in TacheBack, and in turn he “was shocked and pleasantly surprised” to find we had sent him a “Nanosilver Titanium High Precision Grooming kit.”
Well, you’re most welcome, and we’re glad the surprise was a pleasant one! Daniele goes on to say:
it is clearly a really nice tie in as it is really useful when I shave off my moustache next week. It was nice to be part of a campaign which shows some of the opportunities digital creative agencies need to be responding to and it would be great to see more examples on the blog of campaigns which are utilising social media well.
We do like to think we’re using social media well on behalf of Remington and TacheBack, so many thanks for the hat-tip! Please head on over to the main TacheBack site to sponsor Daniele.
A Royal Berkshire shave-off

Well done to the guys at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, who have raised about £900, and had a group shave off the other night (slightly ahead of schedule, but we’ll let them off). They have posted this video on YouTube to record the occasion.
Tache sculpting video

Gavin Cameron has made an interesting stop motion video depicting the “initial sculpting” of his tache. I wonder if he has considered using a Remington Grooming Kit instead of the lawnmower?
Newly groomed

I had been planning to keep some thin handlebars, and the Remington was certainly up to the job - I was able to groom them down to an elegant point. But then I decided to go for the slugger look.

Tache styling suggestions?
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 | tacheback | No Comments
It’s just over the halfway mark and my tache is in need of some maintenance (see below). So tonight I’m going to get styling with the Remington Grooming Kit.
The only thing is, I’m not sure what style to go for? Something similar to what Andy has groomed? Or the Test Match Special from James? I haven’t seen any photographic updates since this one from Michael so it’s hard to say what style he’s sporting. I certainly won’t be attempting Moleitau’s target tache. How are you getting on with that Matt?
Footballer’s Taches

If you’re a Hull City fan, you may already know that manager Phil Brown, and goalkeeper Matt Duke are involved in TacheBack this year, so head on over to the TacheBack website and sponsor them!
Meanwhile, Swindon Town FC are going all out, as this video shows.
And there’s even a football blogger’s tache to support. Alexis James of Catflap football is supporting TacheBack this year.
Do you know any footballers, or fans, getting involved in TacheBack this year?

Thursday, September 11th, 2008 | tacheback | No Comments
Time is running out for the Week 2 challenge. Direct from the TacheBack Challenges Page:
Every new Tache deserves to be treated with loving kindness to promote maximum growth. And sometimes that means shielding it from the sun’s harsh rays …or the lovely British rain! So, grab yourself a hat, wig or other suitable head covering, snap your best side and upload it to your Tache Warrior HQ before 12/09/08. The most dashing, dapper or downright silly will win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit.
Steven Goldsworthy says: “To cultivate the perfect ‘tache, you must know the look you want and work towards this. Remington’s PG400 7-in-1Grooming Kit features all of the trimming attachments and cutters to achieve any look, given a little time and creativity.”
So there you have it - get creative and upload your headwear image to TacheBack.com today, and don’t forget to add them to the TacheBack 2008 Flickr pool!
